#65: Stoking the fire

If you've ever sat around a campfire, you know there's a science to keeping that fire going. It takes the right amount of firewood and airflow to keep those flames roaring. However, get too much firewood shoved into that firepit and you'll lose the airflow, thus choking out your fire. The same happens in our lives. We let distractions, life's circumstances, a lengthy to-do list, and mundane days choke the life out of our fire. In 2021, we all are teetering more towards burnout than passion, but it doesn't have to be that way.

You can change the sliding scale to move closer to a passion-filled life and farther away from burnout. In this episode we're talking about how to do just that - recovering from burnout, restoking the fire and keeping it lit.

Referenced in today’s episode:

"My candle burns at both ends; It will not last the night; But, ah, my foes and, oh, my friends -- It gives a lovely light." - Edna St. Vincent Millay

"There is always, even in the direst of circumstances, some way to ignite your blue flame, even if it's only a tiny spark." - Jennifer Fulwiler

"Clarity and creativity don't flow into a noisy mind. They come into a mind quieted from distraction..." - John Busacker

"You need to live at the tempo of life that's right for you." - Jennifer Fulwiler

“When aligned with values, dreams can re-ignite passion and provide the necessary inspiration to thrive at any life stage and in any circumstance." - John Busacker
